The Casteless Collective | PrologueThe IndieMusicFilmFest 2021″For the last few years as a Cinematographer and Filmmaker, I have been capturing and writing stories in a short film film format and some of them have been screened at various film festivals.
As an associate of Pa.Ranjith I have been working with him on various projects, so he asked me to follow and document the band after the debut show. I have a small team and we travel to various places to discover stories, the journey with The Casteless Collective started.
I have been on the road with them for their gigs, and understood who they are as individuals even at a vulnerable state. The stories are rooted to who they are and where they come from.
Prior to The Casteless Collective, these artists were ostracized from performances and recordings. The idea of the band was the fuel to kickstart the fire in them so that generations after them should not be subjugated by the disease of caste and class. Although for a band which is only three years old the experience they have gained and the maturity they have got is spell bounding.
It was pleasure working with the band and the my team and we as the title goes, this is a prologue which delves into the universe The Casteless Collective “
